Join a collaborative software engineering team focused on modernizing mission-critical merchandising systems through thoughtful, high-quality development. This full stack role is primarily backend-focused, with opportunities to contribute to frontend work as the team builds scalable, distributed applications and continues evolving legacy platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain software solutions that support financial systems and vendor funding processes
- Contribute to both new development and ongoing support of existing legacy applications
- Partner closely with teammates in a highly collaborative environment, including pair programming and shared problem-solving
- Write clean, reliable code with a strong emphasis on test-driven development and engineering best practices
- Support backend services and APIs used in distributed applications
- Participate in frontend development as needed to help deliver complete solutions
- Help improve system durability, scalability, and long-term maintainability
- Take part in an agile team that values simplicity, consistency, and high-quality delivery
Skills
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Fluency in a JVM-based language such as Java or Groovy
- Strong experience with test-driven development
- Willingness to pair program and work closely with others
- Solid backend development skills with the ability to contribute across the stack
Preferred Skills
- Experience building services using REST, HTTP, and JSON
- Familiarity with Spring Framework
- Experience with data stores such as Postgres or Oracle
- Knowledge of Kafka
- Comfort working in Linux and using bash
- Exposure to open source application servers or related technologies such as Apache or Tomcat
- Frontend experience with React or similar JavaScript single-page application frameworks
- Experience with BigQuery
- A collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, and a positive, adaptable approach to teamwork
