Join a collaborative software engineering team focused on building and maintaining critical systems that support vendor funding within a merchandising domain. This full stack role is primarily backend-oriented, with some frontend work, and offers the opportunity to help replace legacy systems with scalable, distributed applications while contributing to high-quality, well-tested software.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software that supports mission-critical financial systems and vendor funding processes
- Contribute to the replacement of legacy systems with modern, distributed, and scalable applications
- Work across the full stack with a strong emphasis on backend development
- Participate in agile engineering practices and help deliver reliable, high-quality solutions
- Collaborate closely with teammates through pairing, code reviews, and shared problem-solving
- Support both new development and ongoing maintenance of existing applications
- Help ensure code simplicity, test coverage, and maintainability across the codebase
Skills
- Strong experience with a JVM-based language such as Java or Groovy
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Deep understanding of test-driven development and a commitment to writing quality code
- Comfort working in a pair-programming environment
- Solid background in full stack development, especially backend-focused work
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a team
Preferred Skills
- Experience building services using REST, HTTP, and JSON
- Familiarity with Spring Framework
- Experience with data stores such as Postgres or Oracle
- Exposure to Kafka or event-driven systems
- Linux and bash proficiency
- Experience with open source application platforms such as Apache or Tomcat
- Frontend experience with React or another JavaScript single-page application framework
- Experience working with BigQuery
- Leadership experience in a collaborative engineering environment
