Join a hands-on engineering team focused on validating Ethernet-connected sensor networks for an advanced autonomous vehicle platform. This onsite role in Foster City, CA offers the opportunity to build robust automation frameworks, strengthen network reliability, and support testing across systems, integration, software, and sensor engineering.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for Ethernet compliance, integration, and performance testing
- Create PCAP and tcpdump-based tools, along with fault injection scripts, to validate network behavior and recovery scenarios
- Set up and support VLAN-segmented network environments across bench and hardware-in-the-loop test systems
- Work with power supplies, DAQ systems, relay controls, and related lab infrastructure to support validation activities
- Test interoperability between switches and sensors while helping ensure security and PPAP-related Ethernet standards are met
- Document test frameworks, system setups, methodologies, and technical configurations clearly and thoroughly
- Partner closely with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and improve test coverage
Skills
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience in network testing, automation, or a closely related area
- Strong understanding of OSI layers, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, SNMP, and VLAN concepts
- Advanced Python and Bash scripting skills, with experience building test automation using tools such as pytest
- Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, iPerf, tcpdump, traceroute, and ethtool
- Solid CI/CD and DevOps experience
- Ability to debug issues across the full networking stack
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DoIP and UDS over IP
- Background in automotive Ethernet standards such as 100BASE-T1 or BroadR-Reach
- Familiarity with H-MTD or FAKRA connectors
- Knowledge of time synchronization protocols such as IEEE 1588v2/PTP or 802.1AS
- Experience supporting bench or air-gapped environments
- Exposure to advanced Linux networking and HIL infrastructure, including DAQ and relay-controlled power rails
