Join a collaborative engineering team as a Senior Web & Applications Developer, where you’ll help support and enhance legacy applications and APIs while contributing to new solutions in a team-oriented, on-site environment. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with specialists across mechanical engineering, material science, optical engineering, and IT while participating in coding best practices, peer programming, and design reviews.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and document software solutions that align with business and technical requirements.
- Support and maintain legacy applications and APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to solve complex problems and deliver effective solutions.
- Participate in peer programming sessions, design discussions, and code reviews.
- Build and run unit and integration tests to help ensure application quality.
- Follow established software development life cycle processes and coding standards.
- Identify project issues and communicate them to the project lead in a timely manner.
- Maintain a regular work schedule and contribute to a positive, productive team environment.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and project goals.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 4 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent technical experience in lieu of education.
- Strong experience in application development using C#, WPF, and/or ASP.NET.
- Background supporting front-end UI through middle-tier application development.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with unit testing, test-driven development, or behavior-driven development.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of web services and application integrations.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Web API and REST services.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle databases.
- Familiarity with Git source control and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Entity Framework or similar ORM tools.
- Knowledge of jQuery or other JavaScript libraries.
- Experience with MVC controls or third-party UI controls.
- Background in writing reports.
- Experience in manufacturing or process control environments.
