We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Data Architect to support the design, development, and governance of data architecture for a remote team focused on business intelligence and analytics. This role offers the opportunity to shape data models, improve data quality, and help enable strong reporting and decision-making capabilities across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain data architecture, schemas, metadata, repositories, and data models that support business intelligence and analytics needs
- Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical technical designs with clear traceability
- Support database administration activities such as configuration, resource allocation, and review of loaded data for accuracy
- Troubleshoot database applications and support data-related issues across systems and processing architectures
- Develop and refine data analytic models, ad hoc queries, and reports for audit and business leadership
- Perform SQL analysis to assess existing metrics and help define new metrics and reporting needs
- Lead or support testing activities, including unit testing, ETL validation, SQL/reporting tool testing, and script development
- Collaborate within an Agile team to improve reporting, dashboards, data governance, data cleanup, and data sharing processes
- Monitor and help improve data integrity, quality, and efficiency through automation and infrastructure enhancements
Skills
- 9+ years of relevant experience in data architecture, business intelligence, database design, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data warehouses, and data analysis techniques
- Experience working with data models, metadata, repositories, and database schema management
- Ability to analyze business needs and convert them into technical design solutions
- Experience supporting reporting, dashboards, metrics, and performance measurement efforts
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy and quality
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to Agile delivery
- Clear communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with technical and business stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Technology certification related to the role
- Experience with ETL processes, code-level testing, and script development
- Familiarity with data governance, data sharing agreements, and data cleanup initiatives
- Background supporting infrastructure design and automation improvements
- Experience developing balanced scorecards or dashboard solutions
