Join a fast-moving Product Operations team supporting the optimization of quoting processes for a leading enterprise software environment. This short-term contract role is ideal for an experienced operations professional who can assess quoting friction, align stakeholders on policy improvements, and translate decisions into clear system requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review current quoting policies, rules, and approval guardrails to identify where they slow deals down or create unnecessary workarounds.
- Gather input from Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Renewals, and Product to understand pain points across the quoting workflow.
- Prioritize the most impactful policy and process changes based on business value and implementation effort.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions to align stakeholders on quoting policy updates and commercial trade-offs.
- Help secure agreement from key owners so policy changes are clearly defined and sustainable.
- Convert aligned decisions into practical requirements for CPQ and related system updates.
- Partner with configuration and technical teams to scope, sequence, and hand off system changes.
- Define success measures to evaluate the effect of changes on friction and cycle time.
Skills
- 8+ years of experience in sales operations, revenue operations, deal desk, quote-to-cash, or commercial operations.
- Hands-on experience improving quoting policies and processes in a business environment.
- Strong understanding of discounting, approvals, packaging, deal structuring, and exception handling.
- Proven ability to lead alignment conversations with cross-functional stakeholders and influence without direct authority.
- Working knowledge of CPQ, ideally Salesforce CPQ, with the ability to translate policy decisions into system requirements.
- Ability to quickly bring structure to ambiguous work and deliver results within a short engagement.
- Clear communication, strong facilitation skills, and sound business judgment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS or enterprise software organization.
- Background in building or scaling a Deal Desk or quoting function.
- Exposure to product launches and how new offerings are introduced into the quoting process.
- Comfort working across sales, finance, product, and operational teams in a collaborative environment.
