JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for an Instructional Designer to create engaging, accessible learning experiences that help teams build skills and improve performance. This role partners closely with subject matter experts and learning stakeholders to turn complex information into clear, practical solutions across courses, job aids, and other learning assets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and update learning materials using approved templates, tools, and standards.
  • Translate business needs and subject matter input into structured learning experiences that support performance improvement.
  • Create a variety of learning assets, such as courses, modules, job aids, and practice activities.
  • Apply adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and inclusive design practices to all deliverables.
  • Collaborate with learning consultants, facilitators, and stakeholders to define scope and align solutions to learner needs.
  • Participate in review cycles, quality checks, and revisions to ensure learning products are accurate and launch-ready.
  • Maintain organized files, version control, documentation, and tracking within approved systems.
  • Identify content gaps and improvement opportunities and help refine learning solutions based on feedback and data.
  • Use authoring tools, learning platforms, and approved AI-enabled tools to improve speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Apply human review and quality assurance to ensure AI-assisted outputs are accurate, accessible, and aligned with standards.
  • Support team learning by sharing best practices, insights, and helpful approaches to design work.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, learning development, or a related content creation role.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methods.
  • Ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible learning content.
  • Comfort using common authoring tools and learning new technologies, including AI-enabled design tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and process follow-through.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design practices.
  • Ability to review feedback and basic data insights and apply them to improve learning solutions.
  • Strong written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with authoring tools and AI-supported drafting, tagging, or light automation.
  • Experience with scenario-based and practice-first learning design.
  • Confidence facilitating conversations with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and recommend effective design approaches.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and remediation practices.
  • Experience interpreting dashboards, analytics, and learner feedback to guide improvements.
  • Familiarity with LMS and LXP platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively within platform and delivery constraints.
