Are you passionate about building modern data solutions that power real business impact? This Junior Data Engineer opportunity offers hands-on work with big data technologies, cloud platforms, and data pipelines in a collaborative environment with flexibility to work remotely or onsite as needed.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and implementation of data ingestion, integration, and transformation solutions.
- Build and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines across multiple data sources.
- Work with big data frameworks and tools to support analytics, search, and aggregation use cases.
- Collaborate with technical teams to translate business needs into practical data engineering solutions.
- Contribute to performance tuning, optimization, and ongoing improvements of data workflows.
- Participate in design discussions and help ensure the stability and health of the overall solution.
- Support cloud-based data platform activities and related infrastructure needs.
Skills
- 1–3 years of overall experience, including at least 1 year of relevant big data experience.
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools and technologies such as HDFS, Kafka, Spark, Spark Streaming, Hive, NiFi, Airflow, or similar components.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language: Java, Python, or Scala.
- Experience with NoSQL and MPP data platforms such as HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redshift, Azure SQLDW, or BigQuery.
- Practical experience with AWS data platform services.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or Talend.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with data governance practices, including security, lineage, and cataloging.
- Exposure to tools such as Collibra or Alation.
- Understanding of distributed messaging frameworks, microservices, search, and indexing technologies.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines.
- Cloud data certifications or other relevant big data credentials.
