Join a dynamic sourcing team in a hybrid role focused on driving value across a broad portfolio of indirect spend. This contract opportunity offers the chance to lead strategic MRO category initiatives, strengthen supplier performance, and improve operational reliability across multiple business locations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for MRO-related categories, including supplies, services, utilities, packaging, and select capital expenditures.
- Partner with operations, warehouse, procurement, and other cross-functional stakeholders to align category plans with business needs.
- Lead RFx events, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract development to secure competitive pricing, service, and lead times.
- Analyze spend, supplier performance, and market data to build cost models, identify savings opportunities, and support informed decision-making.
- Manage supplier relationships through scorecards, business reviews, and corrective action plans to maintain strong service levels.
- Support inventory optimization and parts availability efforts in collaboration with warehouse and maintenance teams.
- Promote compliance with sourcing policies, preferred suppliers, and standardized MRO practices across the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts that strengthen procurement processes, supplier performance, and overall operational efficiency.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members contributing to the category.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, with a focus on MRO or fulfillment/warehouse indirect spend.
- 5+ years of contract negotiation and supplier/vendor management experience.
- Strong understanding of MRO categories, distribution channels, and supply market dynamics.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations and warehouse environments.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze data, create cost models, and translate insights into action.
- Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage multiple initiatives at once.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with CMMS, ERP platforms, or digital procurement tools such as Coupa, Ariba, or GEP.
- Background in service agreements, equipment warranties, or performance-based contracts.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement experience or mindset.
- Experience leading and developing team members.
- 5–8 years of increasing responsibility in a sourcing-related role.
