This fully remote opportunity offers the chance to work with modern cloud, data warehousing, and automation tools while collaborating with an international team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Azure and Snowflake.
- Build and optimize SQL stored procedures and macros to support complex data transformations.
- Create logical and physical data models that help preserve data integrity and support performance.
- Develop and automate CI/CD workflows using Git and Git Actions.
- Tune data processes and troubleshoot production data issues as they arise.
- Clean, standardize, and structure large datasets for reporting and analytics use cases.
- Support code deployments to production environments and help ensure smooth releases.
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes to package and deploy applications in cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to support BI and data science initiatives.
- Contribute to agile delivery efforts and participate in solution design and implementation discussions.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with Azure services such as Blob Storage, Functions, Data Factory, Service Principal, Containers, and Key Vault.
- Solid knowledge of Snowflake, including architecture and best practices.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT, CDC, and SCD.
- Experience with data modeling approaches such as star schema, dimensional modeling, or data vault.
- Familiarity with Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Linux containers, and related open-source tools.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Experience working in agile or scrum environments.
- Working knowledge of access control and data masking practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience building large-scale data pipelines in Spark.
- Knowledge of Snowflake integrations with visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Experience orchestrating data workflows with Airflow.
- Exposure to Hadoop-based processing environments.
- Terraform experience and an interest in automation.
- Familiarity with Kafka or Spark Streaming for real-time analytics.
- Background in healthcare data or large enterprise data environments.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
