We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to help design, build, and support scalable enterprise applications in a hybrid environment with onsite collaboration in Oakland, Rancho Cordova, or Alpharetta. This role offers the opportunity to work on modern Spring Boot microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-ready solutions while contributing to application modernization and CI/CD initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance applications using Core Java and Spring Boot microservices.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate solutions with internal and external systems.
- Translate business requirements into effective technical designs and implementations.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to improve solution quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues, including performance, scalability, and reliability concerns.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps, QA, and other cross-functional partners.
- Work within Agile delivery practices and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Support CI/CD efforts and application modernization initiatives.
- Design and optimize database structures, queries, and stored procedures for relational database environments.
Skills
- 7+ years of Java application development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, including object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, concurrency, exception handling, JVM concepts, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Java 8+ features such as streams, lambda expressions, and functional programming concepts.
- Practical experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.
- Proven background designing and developing microservices-based solutions.
- Experience creating and supporting REST APIs.
- Strong database skills with Oracle or SQL Server, including SQL, schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, solve problems proactively, and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure App Services, Azure DevOps, or Azure Key Vault.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging technologies.
- Knowledge of API gateways and event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of OAuth and JWT-based security practices.
- Experience with cloud-native or distributed system development.
- Background supporting enterprise applications in modern engineering environments.
