We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to support a strategic vendor connection initiative focused on strengthening how vendor access is identified, documented, governed, and standardized across a large enterprise environment. This role is ideal for a process-driven cybersecurity professional who enjoys working cross-functionally to improve vendor security, access governance, and operational clarity.
Responsibilities
- Document and map existing vendor connection methods across the enterprise environment
- Review vendor access details and align connections to the appropriate vendor engagements
- Support data cleanup efforts that improve visibility into vendor connectivity and access records
- Help define and implement standardized vendor access provisioning patterns
- Partner with cybersecurity and third-party risk teams to strengthen vendor access governance
- Support the rollout of improved vendor onboarding and access procedures
- Validate vendor network access against established security standards and approved methods
- Document secure connection options such as VPN, API integrations, remote access, and direct network connectivity
- Provide status updates and help track progress against project milestones
- Create clear documentation and process materials that support long-term governance and consistency
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Third Party Risk, Vendor Security, Cybersecurity Governance, or Information Security
- Hands-on experience supporting Third Party Risk Management programs
- Knowledge of vendor security assessments and vendor risk concepts
- Experience reviewing and documenting vendor network connectivity
- Background in security access management and access reviews
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to create clear operational procedures
- Ability to organize and improve large sets of data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience collaborating with cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, and business teams
- Comfort working in structured project environments with defined deliverables
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Familiarity with Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Understanding of least privilege, multi-factor authentication, and access governance best practices
- Experience creating security standards or operational playbooks
- Experience supporting large enterprise cybersecurity initiatives
- Retail or Fortune 500 enterprise experience
