Join a dynamic manufacturing operations team as a Technical Writer supporting documentation that helps keep complex production and service processes clear, accurate, and easy to use. This contract role offers the opportunity to partner with engineers, technicians, and quality teams to create high-quality technical content that supports efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Research, write, edit, and publish documentation for manufacturing operations and serviceability processes
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, technicians, quality personnel, and leadership to gather requirements and clarify technical details
- Support documentation planning, prioritization, and delivery to align with project timelines
- Create clear digital documentation, including visuals and images, that follows established style and platform standards
- Develop web-based training content using Articulate
- Collect feedback from users and stakeholders to improve clarity, usability, and effectiveness of documentation
- Help ensure documentation consistency across teams, tools, and processes
- Manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines
- Work onsite across multiple locations to support process documentation and collaboration with subject matter experts
Skills
- 6 to 7 years of technical writing experience, ideally in manufacturing procedures
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in writing and editing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience using Oxygen XML Editor, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe tools such as Photoshop and Acrobat
- Ability to capture and improve digital photographs for documentation use
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Preferred Skills
- Experience creating manufacturing content in the automotive, EV, or high-tech industries
- Familiarity with Dozuki, Articulate, Slack, CATIA, JIRA, Confluence, document management tools, or PLM systems
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, automotive, or sensor hardware
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams
- Interest in building documentation that improves training, serviceability, and operational excellence
