We’re seeking a SQL Developer to support and optimize production database environments across Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on SQL development, query tuning, and partnering with technical leaders to improve performance and reliability in cloud-based environments.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support production SQL Server environments across Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL
- Write, review, and refine T-SQL queries, stored procedures, DML statements, and schema updates
- Analyze execution plans and perform query tuning using indexing, statistics, and operator-level diagnostics
- Partner with the lead architect to assess and implement production-impacting decisions
- Build a strong understanding of production schemas, data flows, and overall system architecture
- Support Entity Framework-based applications by reviewing generated SQL and suggesting improvements
- Identify and resolve performance issues, operational risks, and inefficiencies before they affect stability
- Explore opportunities to use AI tools to improve database operations, monitoring, and automation
Skills
- 6+ years of hands-on database administration experience with strong SQL Server expertise
- Practical experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Experience working with cloud-hosted relational databases, including AWS MySQL
- Advanced T-SQL skills, including DDL, DML, stored procedures, and query optimization
- Ability to interpret execution plans and conduct detailed query analysis
- Working knowledge of Entity Framework and how it generates SQL
- Strong operational mindset with a focus on reliability, stability, and performance
- Calm, decisive, and dependable approach when supporting live production environments
- Self-directed, proactive, and accountable work style

- Exposure to AI tools used in database administration, monitoring, or automation
- Experience collaborating closely with senior technical leadership or architecture teams
- Broad understanding of how data systems connect across the enterprise
