Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and web applications that support critical financial workflows
• Build testable, maintainable features and carry work from testing through production deployment
• Support and stabilize existing integrations within a fast-paced Finance technology environment
• Contribute to modernization efforts for legacy applications and related systems
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to help ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and sprint planning
• Support production applications and respond effectively in an Agile delivery environment

Skills

• Strong professional experience developing backend applications with Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging platforms
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Background developing scalable, distributed applications
• Experience writing unit and integration tests with a focus on testable code design
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD-based delivery workflows
• Ability to support production systems in a collaborative Agile environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Java
• Exposure to React for minor UI support or enhancements
• Experience in financial systems, accounting platforms, or enterprise transaction processing
• Background supporting high-volume retail or e-commerce environments
• Familiarity with modern storage and caching patterns, including Postgres and Cassandra
• Experience with Groovy or related backend technologies
