We are seeking a driven Project/Program Manager to support safety operations on the production floor, partnering with operations and EHS teams to keep actions moving from identification through closure. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping improve safety execution, strengthen floor presence, and support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support incident reporting and documentation in the applicable safety system, helping ensure information is captured accurately and promptly
- Assist with incident investigations by gathering facts, building timelines, and supporting root cause and corrective action development
- Track corrective actions through closure, including monitoring aging items, identifying blocked tasks, and escalating risks when needed
- Partner with operations leadership and EHS to support pre-shift safety briefings and follow-through on site safety priorities
- Conduct behavioral safety observations on the production floor, providing real-time coaching and reinforcing safe work practices
- Oversee contractor onboarding activities, including daily oversight, competency verification, and ongoing monitoring
- Support completion of pre-production safety review checklists and related readiness activities
- Maintain a strong floor presence to help reinforce SOP adherence, housekeeping expectations, PIT patterns, and overall operational safety standards
- Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, and Learning and Development to remove barriers and resolve safety-related issues
- Provide regular updates on open actions, risks, trends, and closure progress to site leadership
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 to 4 years of experience in manufacturing operations, safety/EHS support, industrial hygiene, program management, or a related field
- Hands-on experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of incident investigation, behavioral-based safety practices, contractor safety, and pre-production safety review processes
- Comfortable spending time on the production floor and coaching safe behaviors in real time
- Strong organization and documentation skills with attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate across teams, manage follow-up, and keep priorities moving to completion
- Familiarity with PIT operations and housekeeping standards
Preferred Skills
- Experience with an incident or safety management system similar to AUSTIN
- Background in operational safety coordination or production floor leadership
- Experience supporting corrective action tracking and closure reporting
- Ability to identify risks quickly and escalate appropriately
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
