Responsibilities
- Help establish and operationalize a pragmatic data governance framework for key financial data domains.
- Define data ownership and stewardship practices that support accountability across business and technology teams.
- Develop and maintain data lineage for important financial data flows.
- Improve data quality standards, monitoring approaches, and issue remediation processes.
- Support the creation of shared business definitions, metadata, and consistent data definitions.
- Partner with finance and technology stakeholders to standardize critical data elements.
- Provide practical governance guidance based on prior implementation experience.
- Recommend policies and operating practices that are effective, clear, and easy to adopt.
- Support broader modernization efforts aimed at creating a trusted view of how the organization generates revenue.
Skills
- Proven experience implementing data governance programs.
- Hands-on background in data lineage, data quality, metadata management, and master or reference data concepts.
- Strong understanding of governance operating models and how to apply them in real-world settings.
- Experience working with finance data domains and business stakeholders.
- Ability to translate governance needs into practical actions and processes.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across functions.
- Clear, concise communication style with a focus on action and accountability.
- Ability to guide others without overcomplicating the solution.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting financial services organizations.
- Exposure to data modernization initiatives and governance program launch efforts.
- Familiarity with technical data platforms and governance tooling.
- Experience helping teams move from informal practices to sustainable governance processes.
- Comfort advising on structured but practical policies for data access, quality, and stewardship.
