We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to help maintain, modernize, and improve a large portfolio of enterprise React applications that support critical business operations. This remote role offers the chance to work across a broad frontend ecosystem, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and contribute to meaningful modernization efforts in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance enterprise React applications used across multiple business workflows
- Contribute to a micro frontend environment and help support shared frontend capabilities
- Modernize legacy React code by refactoring class-based components into modern patterns
- Improve application performance, maintainability, scalability, and overall user experience
- Address frontend security concerns and support secure development practices
- Strengthen accessibility and usability across applications
- Develop reusable UI components that support consistency and long-term maintainability
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and ongoing engineering improvements
- Collaborate with backend engineers, UX partners, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Help promote best practices for frontend development, testing, and continuous improvement
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with React 18 or newer
- Solid knowledge of React Hooks, Context API, custom hooks, and React Router
- Advanced TypeScript experience, including generics and utility types
- Experience working in large enterprise codebases
- Proven background modernizing and improving existing React applications
- Ability to refactor and simplify complex frontend code
- Experience with state management tools or patterns such as Redux Toolkit, React Query/TanStack Query, or context-based architectures
- Strong testing experience with Jest and React Testing Library
- Knowledge of frontend security practices, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation
- Familiarity with accessible development practices and WCAG principles
- Comfort using ESLint and Prettier to support code quality
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a remote team
Preferred Skills
- Experience with micro frontend architecture and Module Federation
- Background with shared component libraries and distributed UI systems
- Experience with performance profiling, code splitting, lazy loading, and bundle analysis
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and production support
- Experience integrating with APIs and working in backend-connected frontend environments
- Knowledge of Storybook, Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, or Web Vitals
- Experience with enterprise design systems and shared dependency management
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools used responsibly for refactoring, testing, and documentation
