Join a fast-moving software engineering team focused on building and modernizing scalable applications, APIs, and cloud-enabled solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full stack, improve automation and test practices, and help evolve systems from on-premises and internal platforms toward AWS-based architectures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance software solutions using Java, C#, Python, .NET, Spring Boot, microservices, and APIs
- Support and maintain existing on-premises and internal platform applications while contributing to cloud modernization efforts
- Help design and implement serverless patterns and support migration from containerized applications to AWS
- Build and support industry-standard APIs, integration points, and service connectivity
- Design architecture patterns with attention to reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Promote software craftsmanship practices, including test-driven development, behavior-driven development, automated testing, CI, and CD
- Improve application performance through monitoring, metrics, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
- Collaborate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
- Participate in code reviews, continuous improvement efforts, and documentation/playbook creation
- Support product upgrades, patching, maintenance, and production troubleshooting as needed
- Contribute to on-call support rotation and help resolve urgent issues in a calm, effective manner
Skills
- 2+ years of experience in Java, C#, Python, .NET, or full-stack development
- Hands-on experience with GitHub or GitLab, SonarQube, JUnit, and Spring Boot
- Strong understanding of unit testing and automated testing practices using TDD and BDD
- Experience virtualizing services for test automation with tools such as WireMock or Mockito
- Experience building automated backend and data-flow tests using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Cypress, or ReadyAPI
- Working knowledge of CI tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI
- Experience with AWS cloud services and serverless or data processing components such as ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, SageMaker, and Athena
- Experience with relational and object databases, RESTful APIs, microservices, and service development standards
- Experience working in Agile environments and using workload management tools such as VersionOne or Agility
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with relevant experience, or a master’s degree in a related field
- Experience creating test reports using tools such as Cucumber Report or Extent Report
- Experience with OpenShift
- Working knowledge of MQ
- AWS certification
- DevOps or automation experience in code testing, build, and deployment
- Experience developing software in the airline industry
- Knowledge of Windows Server and HP-UX operating systems
