Join a collaborative hardware configuration management team supporting the design, development, and production of complex defense systems. This role focuses on maintaining accurate technical data, managing engineering changes, and helping ensure configuration control across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support hardware configuration management activities tied to the engineering technical data package
- Manage and track changes to approved configurations through a structured change process
- Help maintain configuration records, documentation, and related technical data
- Support configuration management and quality audits
- Prepare metrics, reports, and documentation using Microsoft Office tools
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers to coordinate configuration-related needs
- Apply company procedures and configuration management plans to resolve moderately complex issues
- Work onsite on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off
Skills
- Experience using a Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Good time management and follow-through
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Comfort working in a structured environment with documented processes
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent configuration management experience
Preferred Skills
- Formal training in Configuration Data Management
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas
- Experience managing bill of materials structures
- Background working with government or defense-related requirements
- Familiarity with configuration management and drawing standards such as MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000, EIA-649, ASME Y14.24, and ASME Y14.100
- Experience with PTC Windchill
- Knowledge of CMMI requirements
- STEM bachelor’s degree or equivalent configuration management experience
