Bring your data leadership expertise to a high-impact role supporting enterprise data modernization, governance, and platform transformation. This position offers the opportunity to guide a multidisciplinary team and help shape the future of data architecture, quality, and strategy across a complex environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Architects, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, logical DBAs, and Project Managers.
- Set clear goals, track performance, and support career growth and development across the team.
- Build a collaborative, accountable team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee workload balancing, capacity planning, and hiring needs to support team effectiveness.
- Establish and enforce data governance practices, database usage standards, and architecture guidelines.
- Improve data quality, accessibility, and master data management across enterprise data stores.
- Maintain data dictionaries, metadata standards, lineage, and retention practices.
- Partner with technology leaders, product teams, and enterprise architects to align data strategy with business needs.
- Support enterprise data platform transformation efforts, including Data Lake and Lakehouse initiatives.
- Work with architecture and engineering teams on migration planning from legacy systems to modern platforms.
- Help define best practices for data ingestion, transformation, streaming, and storage.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Manage timelines, dependencies, and delivery risks across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Skills
- 10+ years of experience in data management, data architecture, and data governance.
- 7+ years leading cross-functional teams with responsibilities across architecture, analysis, project delivery, DBA support, business analysis, and master data management.
- Strong background managing enterprise database platforms in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience launching or advancing a master data management program.
- Proven ability to support production stability while balancing multiple priorities and initiatives.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to balance legacy system support with modernization and transformation goals.
- Problem-solving mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with modern data platforms and Data Lake or Lakehouse concepts such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse.
- Familiarity with data virtualization tools such as Denodo.
- Understanding of Medallion Architecture or similar layered data frameworks.
- Experience with real-time or streaming technologies such as Kafka or Spark Streaming.
- Exposure to DevOps or DataOps practices.
- Industry certifications in cloud or data platforms.
