We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team. This role is essential in supporting business decisions within the home lending space, focusing on mortgage loan data evaluation and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze mortgage loan data to assess eligibility and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct pre and post-purchase due diligence reviews and manage correspondence related to loan deficiencies.
- Evaluate complex tax returns to accurately calculate income and identify key loan factors affecting borrower eligibility.
- Summarize exception loans for escalation to leadership and maintain accurate records in the loan system.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to explain decisions and recommend solutions for negative purchase outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support audit requests and assist in credit policy updates.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in evaluating mortgage documentation and compliance requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and other loan programs.
- Experience with quality control and due diligence processes in mortgage lending.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
