JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Design Engineering Manager to lead design engineering services during the construction phase of data center projects. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure design integrity and coordinate effectively between design and construction teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the coordination and completion of design engineering projects, ensuring all aspects are executed efficiently.
  • Lead project execution, including design development and construction administration, while optimizing project management platforms.
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor project progress, preparing reports for upper management.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure design compliance and facilitate urgent meetings to resolve critical issues.
  • Direct and coordinate design teams, establishing clear priorities and accountability to meet construction milestones.
  • Maintain comprehensive design documentation and ensure compliance with AWS standards throughout the construction phase.
  • Identify and escalate design-related risks to leadership, providing solutions to mitigate impacts on schedule and quality.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in data center design lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction administration processes and documentation.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, such as Procore and Smartsheet.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing design teams during the construction phase of mission-critical facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver successful project outcomes in complex environments.
  • Familiarity with advanced construction administration techniques and project reporting.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a proven track record of mentoring team members.

This is not a guarantee of compensation, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
