We are seeking an experienced Lead Performance Engineer to spearhead performance engineering within our growing team. This exciting role will involve shaping strategy and guiding cross-team initiatives while working in an innovative, data-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the performance engineering strategy to meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with multiple Scrum teams to conduct and analyze performance tests for APIs and data pipelines.
- Implement standard performance monitoring, identifying scalability opportunities through capacity planning.
- Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks within application and infrastructure layers.
- Integrate observability standards into ongoing processes, leveraging metrics and diagnostics effectively.
- Communicate performance insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills
- Expertise in performance engineering for complex, distributed systems with intensive data processing.
- Strong knowledge of system performance metrics, testing, and modeling procedures.
- Hands-on experience with performance tools, such as JMeter and observability platforms like New Relic.
- Exceptional capability in cross-team collaboration and stakeholder management within an Agile setting.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud-based data architectures, particularly within AWS services.
- Knowledge of optimizing query engines and managing event-driven integrations.
- Familiarity with embedding performance testing in CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with AI-powered tooling for performance evaluation and diagnostics.
