Join our team as a Sr. Database Administrator and take the opportunity to work with innovative technologies while managing and optimizing our database systems. This role promises dynamic challenges and the chance to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain databases on mainframe platforms to ensure seamless operation.
- Develop and implement strategies for database backup, recovery, and availability.
- Monitor and enhance database performance, optimizing queries for efficiency.
- Collaborate with application teams on infrastructure technology projects.
- Manage database objects and perform data manipulations as needed.
- Stay informed on advancements in database technologies and implement new features.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure compliance with audits.
Skills
- Extensive experience with mainframe database technologies such as zDb2, IMS DB/DC, and ADABAS.
- Proficiency in SQL, DB2 partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex database issues.
- Experience in managing database backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of service level management and change management processes.
- Relevant certifications in DB2 or related database technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams.
