Responsibilities

• Develop and update complex technical documents to aid in product marketing, operation, and maintenance.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to company and government standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to gather information and translate technical data into user-friendly content.
• Analyze engineering drawings and data to create accurate technical documentation.
• Evaluate and integrate illustrations and graphics into documentation effectively.
• Provide time and cost estimates for project requirements.
• Engage with customers to address technical issues and project content.
• Participate in validation efforts and contribute to the design of technical documentation.
• Lead small technical writing projects and participate in system testing of manuals.

Skills

• Proficient in creating technical documentation using XML Authoring Tools like Arbortext Epic Editor and Oxygen software.
• Strong command of Adobe Acrobat Professional PDF Software for illustration markups.
• Experience in Mechanical/Electrical/Operator Tech Writing within the defense industry.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering designs and translate them for non-technical audiences.
• Excellent attention to detail and mastery of the English language.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
• Experience with customer interaction and service skills.
• Knowledge of military and commercial standards is a plus.
• On-vehicle validation and verification experience.
