JOB DESCRIPTION

Sr. IT Database/System Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. IT Database/System Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to support and enhance a high-performance computing environment while collaborating with IT and R&D stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain high-performance computing systems, focusing on RHEL 8 and Rocky Linux 8 environments.
  • Support job submission workflows and workload managers to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Install and configure scientific and engineering software applications, managing environment modules effectively.
  • Design and implement networking and enterprise storage solutions for high-throughput computing workloads.
  • Utilize configuration and automation tools to streamline system provisioning and CI/CD workflows.
  • Manage cloud-based HPC resources using AWS services and DevOps tools.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks and improve system reliability.

Skills

  • Strong expertise in high-performance computing (HPC) and system administration.
  • Proficiency in managing supercomputing architectures and accelerated nodes.
  • Experience with job submission workflows and workload managers, preferably PBS.
  • Solid knowledge of networking and enterprise storage solutions.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Salt Stack and automation platforms.
  • Experience with AWS core services and DevOps tools.
  • Strong understanding of version control practices using GitHub.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
