JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our team as a Teradata Database Administrator and be instrumental in enhancing and maintaining a major data warehouse infrastructure. This remote, short-term contract offers the chance to work with a dynamic consulting team dedicated to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve system performance using specialized tools.
  • Optimize queries and indexes to enhance database efficiency.
  • Manage workload distribution and ensure balanced resource allocation.
  • Effectively administer database structures, users, and access rights.
  • Provide operational support, including after-hours incident response.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless data operations.

Skills

  • Proven expertise in Teradata database administration and performance tuning.
  • Experience with UNIX platforms and shell scripting.
  • Strong SQL proficiency and scripting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Eligibility to obtain USPS sensitive clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with data warehousing environments and BI tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Experience in troubleshooting ETL/BI tool errors.
  • Understanding of normalization and de-normalization concepts.
