JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a dynamic team as an Oracle Database Administrator where you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing database systems. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work on-site up to three days a week in Dallas, Texas, ensuring a balance between collaboration and flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation, migration, and patching of Oracle databases, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Manage database objects including tablespaces, users, roles, and privileges to maintain optimal database performance.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
  • Collaborate with development teams during design sessions to provide insights on performance and scalability.
  • Identify and drive automation and service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to address critical issues and ensure continuous service delivery.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with Oracle Database Administration, particularly with versions 12c, 18c, and 19c.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly address and resolve database-related issues.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with Exadata Database systems, including migration and feature enablement.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and issue resolution.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Solaris, Linux, and Veritas Cluster environments.
  • Experience with Data Guard setup and management for database protection and disaster recovery.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and process improvement.
