We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your data science expertise at the intersection of healthcare and AI ethics, making a significant impact in the field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse teams, including legal and compliance, to communicate findings on various AI methods.
• Document research outcomes, create comprehensive reports, and present results to stakeholders effectively.
• Develop job aids and guidance documentation to promote best practices in responsible AI.
• Automate testing processes and analyze results through Python scripting.
• Identify vulnerabilities related to PII/PHI exposure in AI interactions and maintain test data sets.
• Stay updated on the latest AI/ML research developments and incorporate relevant findings into your work.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Assist in designing and executing Red Team testing scenarios for conversational AI systems.

Skills

• BS degree with 5+ years of experience in computer science, applied mathematics, or related fields.
• Extensive experience with the full ML system development lifecycle, including deployment and maintenance.
• Proficiency in advanced NLP models and methodologies.
• Strong expertise in Python and ML frameworks, such as scikit-learn, Pandas, and Numpy.
• Deep understanding of ethical considerations and fairness in AI model development.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with healthcare systems, including claims payment and call centers.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Exposure to large language models or conversational AI systems.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and adversarial testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to AI in healthcare.
