JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our team as a Sr. Database Administrator and play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our database systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain mainframe database systems, ensuring efficient operation and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with application teams to implement database schema changes and support new technology initiatives.
  • Conduct performance tuning to optimize query execution and system functionality.
  • Manage database backups and recovery plans to safeguard data availability and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor database platforms for high availability, addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Engage in risk management and compliance activities, including audit reviews and mitigation strategies.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with zDb2, IMS DB/DC, and ADABAS database technologies.
  • Proficiency in IBM DB2 database administration on z/OS mainframe platforms.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, data partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database-related issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with data security best practices and compliance regulations.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with service level management, change management, and incident resolution.
  • Knowledge of working with external vendors and managing software upgrades.
  • Relevant certifications in DB2 or related database technologies.
