Responsibilities
- Lead the ideation, planning, and creation of new design assets for various projects.
- Utilize design software and CAD packages to produce high-quality 2D and 3D representations.
- Guide the fabrication process by evaluating design requirements and material selection.
- Engage in all stages of the design process, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and maintain designs as project requirements evolve.
- Occasionally travel to provide on-site support and ensure project success.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD and CAM software, with experience in Autodesk Fusion 360 being a plus.
- Strong hand sketching skills and experience with digital fabrication equipment.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work within a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industries such as product design, theater, or art.
- Familiarity with programmable electronics and motorized mechanisms.
- Membership in industry groups such as IDSA, ASME, or IEEE.
- Experience facilitating design thinking or brainstorming workshops.
