JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic Sr. Systems Engineer to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. This role involves certifying and supporting hardware peripheral devices in an enterprise environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, test, certify, document, implement, and support hardware platforms.
  • Ensure device connectivity including serial, USB, and network topologies.
  • Configure hardware firmware and write scripts in PowerShell.
  • Provide remote diagnostic problem-solving and resolution.
  • Certify and implement driver updates and changes.
  • Monitor and tune platforms to meet enterprise objectives.
  • Provide technical support and consultation for lifecycle planning and problem management.
  • Design and document enterprise support standards and procedures.
  • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions.
  • Ensure platforms conform to established enterprise standards.
  • Provide on-site and on-call support as needed.

Skills

  • Associate’s degree or industry certification in an applicable IT field with four years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in an IT field with two years of experience, or five years of equivalent experience.
  • Thorough understanding of peripheral devices, connectivity, and desktop-based technology.
  • Knowledge of multiple systems, programming languages, and methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness.

  • Problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous airline experience.
  • Experience with RFID technology.
  • Knowledge and use of Tera Term.
