JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is required to provide advanced support and administration of the enterprise server infrastructure (cloud and on-prem). This includes configuration, administration, consulting, documentation and implementation of server hardware and software, server security, optimizing capacity and performance, monitoring and they participate in server planning and engineering.

This position will be part of a larger enterprise team located on-site, within our data center location, Monday-Friday (normal business hours) and rotate being on-call every 4-6 weeks.  General to advanced data center operational tasks may be required.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Technical certifications desired but not required. Relevant examples: MSCE, VCP, CCNA, CompTIA Security+ etc.…
  • 5-7+ years IT experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS, Microsoft OS and Hyper-Visor operating systems
    • Windows, 2012 R2 & 2016; 2019; RHEL Linux v 7+
    • VMWare v. 6.0+
    • Cloud (Azure a plus)
  • Strong knowledge & experience with Dell Server Hardware, configurations and troubleshooting
  • Experience with HP 3Par and HP Nimble Storage; Cisco SAN configuration and support a plus
  • Experience with Dell Data Domains and support a plus
  • Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented.
  • Strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Perl, or other languages
  • Familiarity with multiplatform environments
  • Knowledge of server security configurations and vulnerability management processes
  • Ability to proactively identify areas of improvement and recommends/implements changes rather than waiting for direction.
  • Experience working in Scrum/Kanban
  • Excellent team player - proven ability to resolve problems professionally and systematically.
  • Data center skills such as installing moving/equipment and cabling.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple project and priorities.
  • Ability to lift 60-75lbs.
  • Excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units and CRAC units a plus
  • Ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on these systems.
