JOB DESCRIPTION

If you have experience as an editor for brand communications, public affairs, or business writing and are seeking a new contract in Lake Bluff, Horizontal Talent has an exciting opportunity for you. We are recruiting a Proofreader/Editor for a welcoming and collaborative team, and the role offers a compelling pay rate.

The Proofreader/Copy Editor helps instill corporate brand through quality assurance of content for internal and external marketing communications across digital and print applications. You will focus primarily on proofreading and light editing for brand communications, public affairs, and business writing.

To give you an idea of how this Editor role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

  • Partner with creative directors, project managers, writers, senior designers, and internal Client clientele
  • Support coordination of internal and external communications of the organization within established policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing internal and/or external communication materials (newsletters, internet/intranet pages, campaigns, etc)
  • Work with internal agency teams across multiple business units and workstreams

To apply for this Editor role, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:

  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Ability to provide exceptional quality assurance balanced with comprehension and articulation of Client’s voice, style, and business needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Project Management systems
  • BA/BS in English or Journalism preferred
