This position is responsible for working on the Scheduling & Automation team within Core Services. Which includes managing the Stone Branch scheduling platform, security patching, upgrades, engineering & operations support.
Candidate will build dynamic IT automation solutions that transform business environments from simple IT task automation into sophisticated, real-time business service automation, helping the organization achieve the highest possible Return on Automation.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for Batch mainframe and server monitoring activities associated with production control and coordination including planning, scheduling, input/output control, job setup, standards, etc.
- Work with Application and Project Teams to answer questions related to setting up and maintaining their batch job schedules.
- Interpret application/project requests and translate them into valid updates to batch job schedules.
- Create/Maintain batch job schedules in the Batch Job Scheduling tool as directed by Application Teams.
- Adding/Removing/Updating job definitions.
- Defining job dependencies such as predecessor/successor relationships both within and between application batch job schedules.
- Defining success/failure criteria for jobs along with action for failures.
- Automating batch job schedules to run at designated times and at designated frequencies.
- Simulating and verifying batch job schedules and job flow matches request.
- Simulating and verifying the batch job schedules for defined conditions/dates.
- Migrate batch job schedules through various phases from non-production to production (ie development, integrated test, user acceptance test, production).
Technical Requirements
- Minimum 3-7 years of engineering experience in scheduling & automation fields
- Must have experience working with scheduling platforms ESP CA/Broadcom and Stone Branch UAC systems
- Experience with a Batch Job processing and scheduling job flows
- Experience working with mainframe & distributed scheduling tools.
- Very good understanding of IT infrastructure and operating systems like UNIX/Linux, Windows Server
- Technical understanding/background in Cloud applications, infrastructure, and virtualization; ideally experience with platforms like AWS & Microsoft Azure Cloud
- Programming & scripting languages like shell scripting, SQL
- Customer oriented service attitude
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal required to be considered
- Relevant Bachelor’s or comparable degree
- Knowledge about Web application containers like Tomcat
- OpenShift in cloud platforms
- Good Knowledge of REST API, XML, YAML and JSON
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Stonebranch products
- Knowledge about workload automation systems
- Programming languages like terraform, ansible, python, etc.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. GIT)
- Experience with mainframe systems (zOS)
