- The engineer in this role will deliver on building an enterprise sales platform and/or migrating subject area development goals, contributing to evolving use of data and decision intelligence led solutions for solving problems, and scale the impact of data through development of scalable, cloud native service.
- As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and maintain scalable and efficient cloud solutions using AWS services. Your role will encompass infrastructure as code, cloud architecture, software development, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud-based applications.
- Position Summary/Job Description:
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles with Terraform and Cloud Formation.
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of AWS services to architect, develop, and optimize scalable solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain Java Spring Boot applications, ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment, testing, and monitoring using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS Code Pipeline.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud-based applications and services for performance, availability, and security.
- Collaborate with DevOps and security teams to implement and enhance security best practices, compliance, and data protection.
- Participate in cross-functional team discussions, code reviews, and technical discussions to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Encourage collaborative efforts and camaraderie with on-shore and off-shore team members.
What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?
- 4 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering and architecture, with a focus on AWS services.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.
- Proven development skills in Java and Spring Boot, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
- Relevant engineering experience such as software development; critical reasoning skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; experience delivering quality engineering outcomes.
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker and Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CodePipeline, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- AWS certifications (such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a strong plus.
