Job Summary
- Client is looking for an Assistant Merchant to join the team. This role will support the strategy of the merchandise assortment through flawless execution for our Emerging Businesses portfolio.

Responsibilities
Know the Product
- Drive accuracy of product detail through excellent execution and management of assortment documentation and communication
- Deliver consistent and accurate line plans, product information, and assortment details
- Accountable for style set up in system and communicating with internal & external partners around shifts in assortment
- Assist in key meeting preparation with sample management and deck preparation
- Identify and deliver marketing/visual strategy and sales education/store operations communications
- Support in delivering financial objectives and maximizing volume and profit by leveraging intuitive insights when building seasonal strategies
- Manage digital/e-commerce photo asset & copy process
- Participate in seasonal hind-sighting process by sharing customer insights and product rankings
Know the Business
- Prepare and analyze style selling reporting on a weekly basis to influence business decisions
- Share customer insights and business recommendations in cross-functional forums
Know the Customer
- Engage in competitive patterning to understand the current market trends and influence product strategy
- Conduct customer surveys and focus groups in stores to inform product decisions
- Identify brand & product opportunities based on intimate knowledge of competitive landscape
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience; stores/internship experience a plus
- Strong passion and awareness of fashion, retail, and trends
- Ability to work independently; be curious, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and take initiative
- Highly detail oriented, accurate, and can work well in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication, prioritizing, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Team player and to foster a commitment to teamwork among other associates
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, & Outlook
