Job description
-Remote; preferred candidates would be within the Tulsa Metro area -Open to candidates who live within states we operate in - Health benefits start on day 1

Job Profile Summary

  • Participate, with general supervision, in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for both package and custom developed applications, including in software design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Works independent with limited supervision to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions as prioritized by the business including creating and updating system documentation and training materials
  • Design, development, testing, maintenance, and documentation of reliable and scalable software solutions, as prioritized by the business, according to facts, policies and practices that will support user requirements. Coaching and reviewing work of lower-level professionals
  • Manage projects and processes through entire system development life cycle
  • Gather and document business requirements from to determine the capabilities that need to be delivered. Consult with the users on the priorities, complexities, and other impacts of the requirements. Provide time and cost estimates for proposed changes
  • Coordinate and communicate development activities with other team members, infrastructure personnel, vendors, and management, as well as coaching and reviewing work of lower-level professionals
  • Follow defined change control and compliance procedures associated with software development, including all required documentation and governance standards
  • Identify opportunities to deploy existing solutions in other business areas
  • Interact with business users via consulting and training to ensure effective use of technology solutions
  • Collaborate with key process owners on the documentation of difficult, but sometimes complex application defects, enhancements and/or projects
  • Solves difficult, sometimes complex problems
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job
  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, computer science, mathematics, other related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience to include:

Work Experience

  • Demonstrated ability with multiple development languages and/or platforms
  • Demonstrated ability in software development and programming concepts/techniques
  • Demonstrated ability working with database management systems
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the software development lifecycle methodology and basic project management concepts
  • Working knowledge of basic infrastructure concepts and how those concepts are impacted by development activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skills in: Use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
  • Ability to: Apply math, algebra and statistical methods
  • Ability to: Interact, advise and communicate effectively
  • Ability to: Communicate and/or exchange information or instruction; conduct oral presentations and/or meetings

What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?
• Coding
• Automated testing experience would be a plus
• Oil & Gas experience would be a plus •

•3-4 years of IT configuration and coding experience
• Excellent troubleshooting skills *Tenure/ longevity in previous roles in important to the leader*

What are the nice-to-have skills?
• The coding languages they may have used (C-Sharp, Python, Javascript)
• The systems they have worked on (SAP, Enablon, Oracle ERP, Maximo,)
• The business areas they have supported (Oil & Gas, etc)
• Other IT teams they have worked with (Infrastructure, Win Admins, Unix Admins)

  • client is looking for a Development Analyst on the Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Corporate Applications Team.
  • This individual will be working closely with the rest of the ES&H IT Apps team as well as the ES&H business teams.
  • Preferred technical skills include SQL, C#, ASP.NET, and experience with reporting/BI Tools such as SSRS, Spotfire, etc. 
  • additionally experience with software such as Enablon, Intelex/ACTS, or Maximo are highly desirable but not required.
