- Execute maintenance activities/change requests either in response to customer requests or that have been scheduled by Release Management Coordination team - Monitor output of automated maintenance activities and intervene as needed to achieve successful outcomes - Technically review and approve upcoming maintenance activities
- Providing technical advice and updating technical procedures (MOP) as needed - Patch management and approval of security updates in Windows Server (WSUS), Red Hat (RHN, RHSM) and VMware ESXi environments to ensure consistent deployment of security updates customer environments e.g. staged deployments across DEV/UAT/PROD environments
- Attend maintenance review meetings, daily standups - Maintain technical knowledge of vendor and Companies own products through self-directed learning
- The primary responsibility for the Release Management Engineer is to plan, validate and execute approved maintenance on customer servers in adherence with best practice Change and Release Management processes.
- Release Management Engineer is also responsible for overseeing the Operating System patching service for Company customers.
- They will provide technical expertise and solutions to enable regular maintenance of core platform management and monitoring agents, and routine installation of operating system security updates and patches.
- Managed Hosting environment for which Company manages customer servers running Windows and Linux as standalone and virtual machines; Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2/2016/2019/2022 and Red Hat Linux 6/7/8
- Patch management in WSUS and/or RHSM - VMware ESXi - Supports Company managed customer servers in Azure/AWS/on-prem
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Microfocus Server Automation and Operations Orchestration (HPSA/HPOO) is beneficial

- Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems in enterprise environments
- Industry experience of Operating System patch management for Windows Server and/or RHEL - IT operations background
- Ownership of commitments - Highly organized and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Self-reliance
- Communication/collaboration with ability to communicate in written and verbal formats on technical matters to a technical and non-technical audience
- 2+ years’ proven experience in an operations or implementation role working in an enterprise environment
