Product Owner Job Description

In this role you will represent the voice of the business by performing research, design, and development, translating complex business requirements into actionable features, user stories to accommodate changes/updates to the Operations application suite. This is a cross-functional role that reviews requirements and performance against expectations and coordinates/facilitates or influences changes to product to achieve optimal performance. You will work with internal business partners to recommend future direction, respond to inquiries, and ensure alignment to product roadmap.

Primary Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary liaison between business and technical team, responsible for gathering, documenting, and prioritizing business requirements in support of critical business needs.
Documents and translates business requirements into features and the development of user stories
Works closely with product leadership stakeholders to prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
As the Product Owner, acts as the domain specialist who owns and drives the vision for the product life cycle
Serves as the SME for User Acceptance Testing activities, including providing support for hands-on testing and troubleshooting when necessary
Supports end-to-end coordination for product-related activities
Participates in solution analysis and design meetings for system enhancements and/or implementations
Participates in discussions to document Current State/Future State workflows as needed
Works well in a matrix environment across cross – functional teams
Provide explanations and information to Agile teams, stakeholders, managers
Prepares and presents information to leadership for next steps and decision making
Actively participate in Agile team processes and help implement process changes related to Agile
Lead, Build and maintain a backlog/inventory of system and business requirements to quickly react to additional enhancement capacity

Required Qualifications:
7+ years demonstrable experience working as a Business Analyst (or similar role), Product Owner or related experience in healthcare operations
7+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Systems Analyst, and / or Business Analyst facilitating and documenting requirements (such as features, user stories, and/or business requirement documents) gathered from both business and IT counterparts
5+ years working with stakeholders, partners and gathering requirements
5+ year of experience with healthcare claims processing systems and supports activity.
3+ year Agile Methodology and Tools experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent exp in business, technology, management, statistics or equivalent experience
Healthcare and product owner experience on UI or API / Interfaces
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to present ideas in a in a concise and clear manner
