Project Overview:

  • Company Life is upgrading VS10, one of its primary policy administration systems for variable annuities, as the technology runs on, it will not be supported in the near future.
  • This project involves upgrades to the development code, the reporting code, and changes to system functionality.
  • The project involves working closely with business users across the organization to understand how they’re using the current system, where the data is getting coming from upstream, how it’s being used downstream, and to identify functionality that is no longer needed.
  • This project involves working closely with the development and testing teams in order to communicate the business needs with clear requirements and with process flows to show the As Is and To Be processes as it relates to online screen usage, screen navigation, business controls, and reports. This project will require a BA with higher than average technical aptitude.

Team & Responsibilities:

  • The business analyst will be working with a large team of highly technical IT and business resources to define and validate requirements for a comprehensive upgrade of the VS10 Admin System. T
  • he project team is fast paced with demanding stakeholders and will require a business analyst who can collaboratively, but independently own and drive work within a Waterfall framework.
  • This includes the ability to create a comprehensive stakeholder analysis and impact assessment, perform gap analysis, effectively facilitate and manage working sessions to draft and refine functional and non-functional requirements, develop a user acceptance testing strategy and plan, lead UAT execution, develop a post install validation strategy and plan, and lead PIV execution.

Team Methodology: Waterfall

  • Team Makeup: Project Sponsor, Project Manager, Enterprise Architect, Business Analyst, Developer/s, Quality Assurance, Business Process Consultants, Subject Matter Experts, etc.

  • Strong meeting facilitation and management
  • Self-motivator / driver
  • Operates with a high degree of urgency and proactively addresses open questions and risks
  • Strong soft skills and can communicate effectively at all levels
  • Customer-oriented
  • Maintains a solution focus, facilitating “here’s how we can” mindset
  • 10 years business analysis experience preferred
  • Financial services experience required
  • Experience working with life insurance and annuity products required
  • Proficiency with Jira or Polarion desired
