Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • This candidate will be supporting the Care Data Platform initiative and any relevant work in that space.

Ideal Background:

  • The ETL Developer is responsible for supporting the information management architecture of the Data Warehouse.
  • This role is responsible for extracting, transforming and loading data into data staging, and the data warehouse.
  • This role will work closely with the data architect, data modeler, data analysts and other project team members to understand requirements regarding ETL design flows and data integration.
  • They will collaborate on definition, development, and maintenance of standards and processes.
  • The ETL Developer will develop ETL solutions following the well-defined data warehouse design and development best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing ETL solutions
  • 5+ years of working knowledge in a Data Warehouse/BI environment
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft TSQL, SSIS, and SSAS
  • Strong RDBMS experience; Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server
  • Strong SQL skills including complex SQL constructs, DDL generation
  • Strong ETL skills using Informatica or Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure is a plus
  • Experience in Databricks, Snowflake is a plus

Top Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing ETL solutions
  • 5+ years of working knowledge in a Data Warehouse environment using Informatica
  • Strong RDBMS experience; Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server including complex SQL constructs, DDL generation

Team and Team size:

  • The candidate will be working with a scrum team consisting of 6 – 7 team members.
  • 1 PM, 3 DAs, 3 Developers, 2 QAs

Top Responsibilities:

  • Provide updates to team on daily scrum stand ups
  • Professionally communicate with internal and external business partners
  • Provide collaborative hand-off of work to data and quality analysts
  • Develop efficient and high performing ETL solutions
  • Design, develop, test and performance tune complex ETLs
  • Participate in design review sessions and peer ETL reviews
  • Assess and profile source and target data (data structure, quality, completeness, schema, nulls, etc.) and requested business use cases
  • Summarizes testing and validation results and can communicate and make recommendations/decisions on the best course of action to remediate
  • Resourceful at coming up with solutions using existing or available resources based on knowledge of the organization and level of execution effort
  • Participate in agile work environment, attending daily scrum meetings and completing sprint deliverables on time
  • Supports practices, policies and operating procedures and ensures alignment to departmental objectives and strategy
  • Teammate can make the complex seem less complex, is a consensus builder and brings people and teams together
  • Ensures each level of the organization has the information needed and the context needed to produce favorable results
  • Builds strong relationship with IT operational leaders to ensure connectivity to the business.
  • Supports a work environment in which people can perform to the best of their abilities.
  • Holds self-accountable for technical abilities, productive results and leadership attributes.

Skills/attributes Required

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing ETL solutions
  • 5+ years of working knowledge in a Data Warehouse/BI environment
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft TSQL, SSIS, and SSAS
  • Strong RDBMS experience; Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server
  • Strong SQL skills including complex SQL constructs, DDL generation
  • Strong ETL skills using Informatica or Azure Data Factory.

Skills/attributes Preferred

  • HealthCare Experience – 5+ years
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum & Rally preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, writing, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare business areas (clinical, operations, care management)
