Position Description:

  • Initially, a 6-month contract with the possibility to extend depending on the status of the program. Converting to FTE depends on the future need of the position & team. 
  • Due to the nature of this job, this person should be expected to work on-site at Northridge during most core working hours and only remotely as necessary and the schedule allows. Evenings & weekends are involved but working hours can be adjusted. Also, in the event of an unexpected event such as an outage, this person will need to be able to get to the facility ASAP, so 24x7 on-call is also part of this job.
  • This position is located in the client's Global IT - Enterprise Technology Services organization within the Connectivity & Data Centers team.
  • This team focuses on designing and enhancing capabilities within our global network, network security, data center strategy, and data center facility operations areas and partners to deliver key business outcomes while improving our overall performance, scalability, resiliency, sustainability, and security postures.


  • Include such things as supporting the Northridge data center migration, daily access to vendors, break/fix, maintenance, supporting the Network as a Service program, and vendor management.
  • This person does not need to be an expert in relevant network, data center, and other relevant technologies but should at least have a good understanding.
  • Please note that this person will have little to no interaction directly with the Diabetes operating unit and will work within client's IT, vendors, and other MDT functions, primarily and closely with the data center Sr IT Program Manager (Product Owner) and technical lead as well as aspects of the cloud & storage teams that manage the Diabetes Northridge data centers. This includes either on-site or by phone and/or meetings (i.e., how they’ll lay out the technology in the building walking around with them, working with a vendor on-site in the data center to replace or troubleshoot hardware, by phone troubleshooting network/data center related issues, on the phone telling the technical expert what lights are blinking, verifying everything is connected.) So not just hands & feet but eyes and ears for vendors and client's   IT.
  • Works with a product owner, IT engineer, or IT architect that has planned, developed, documented, or configured systems specifications to be implemented.
  • Some involvement in the planning of system and development deployment.
  • Works with IT Engineers to assist in evaluating interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of the overall system as well as functionality, inventory, performance, and coordinating project completion.
  • May document testing and maintenance of system updates, modifications, and configurations.
  • Act as a liaison with key technology vendor technologists or other business functions.
  • Partner with IT engineers to leverage platform process expertise to assess if existing standard platform functionality will solve a business problem or customization solution would be required.
  • Gather and prioritize integration requirements.
  • May test the quality of a product and its ability to perform a task or solve a problem.
  • Partner with vendors and IT engineers to perform basic maintenance and performance optimization procedures in each of the primary operating systems.
  • Assist in the shipping and receiving of hardware products as well as coordinating racking and cabling.
  • Any other related activities as needed.
  • Familiarity with data center architecture and participation with the peer review of projects and implementations.
  • Understand and follow all requirements for ITIL and CHG management processes and definitions. And ensure others are following these processes when proposed changes need to be made/reviewed
