Job Description:

  • Company Technology of America (ATA) provides shared infrastructure services to several North America operating entities under the company umbrella. 
  • ATA is seeking an experienced, senior level engineer to join our workplace engineering team in managing the full suite of heterogeneous technologies within our environment, in conjunction with our managed services partners and global colleagues.
  • The IT Deskside Client Engineer Principal is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software and related to our virtual desktop environments.

General Duties:

  • Interface with vendors and internal product owners to provide feedback on defects; obtain technical direction; partner on new requirements and releases.
  • Provide project and operational support for thin clients and modern device management devices.
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 support from various constituencies as needed. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Configure and test policies in Wyse Management Console
  • Provide integration testing and support for print and other components for end to end user requirements.
  • Work across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents and requests.
  • Coordinate with other technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve user incidents
  • Document systems procedures and training materials
  • Evaluate and test stability of new products and software releases
  • Train and mentor technical support staff
  • Ensure optimal inventory, and equipment management systems and processes are in place to support operations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytic skills
  • Ability to see beyond immediate issues and suggest long-term, proactive solutions
  • Ability to interface with management at all levels, presenting complex technical issues/solution in an understandable way
  • Ability and willingness to “own” a client’s issues until they are fully resolved
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent technical documentation
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Vendor management and working multiple-vendor issues to resolution
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to other staff (level 1, 2, 3 support)
  • Demonstrated team player, attention to detail, professional demeanor

Technical Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience with desktop and virtual computing environments
  • Experience supporting Office 365, One Drive and modern device management
  • Solid Windows 10 administration, setup and troubleshooting in a domain environment
  • Experience with network security, including providing patches, anti-virus software, firewalls and password protection
  • Knowledge and ability to provide support for various software packages including  MS Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint), Apple iPhone/iPad, Video Conferencing, Cisco Webex, VPN, Citrix Workspace
  • Knowledge to ensure network security policy and standards are implemented and enforced
  • Knowledge and experience with IP Networking components including: Firewalls, Remote Access; VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP

Desired Tool Experience:

  • Airwatch, Boxer, Powershell scripting, Mobile Device Management, Lookout, iOS, Wyse Management Suite, Citrix Director, Citrix Workspace, Webex, AD, Azure, Intune, 0365, ServiceNow
