MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) 
• Conducts documentation planning, including customer needs analysis, and scope definition
• Research, analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate technical writing projects
• Collaborates on developing designs and produces technical schematics, flowcharts, architectural diagrams, data flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and other visuals as requested
• Performs document quality and content review
• Meet with managers and staff to establish technical specifications
• Collects and gathers technical data; reads and understands engineering drawings and schematics 
• Read, comprehend, and present technical information clearly and accurately 
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing 
• Perform complex problem solving 
• Effectively use advanced word processing and graphic software, including creating templates and macros 
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively in a team setting 
• Submit drafts to managers for feedback. 
• Review documentation as necessary and proofread for grammar and spelling
• Release the document following final approval
• Collaborate on updates and different editions as necessary
• Collaborate on editing documents developed by others to ensure accuracy and quality of content, organization, language, format consistency, and conformance with established standards

• Ability to interpret guidance and direction 
• Ability to understand the technical and operational policy and dependencies between them
• Ability to run document reviews and oversee comment adjudication activities
• Adept at task, schedule, and deadline management
