Job Description:
  • The Commerce Platform team provides consistent, reliable, and scalable apps and services that drive our customers’ commerce experiences.
  • Including newly built and differentiated experiences that allow that offer Client customer segments exclusive access to highly desirable or segment-specific products and services.
  • The Commerce Platform team aggregates microservices (tax, pricing, product, payment, etc.) and manages business scenarios to support purchase experiences.
  • This includes customer facing applications, internal services that provide platform stability, and employee selling tools.
Project Description:
  • This product manager will work with the core commerce services team as their product person who will be embedded in the team. 
Position Summary/Job Description: 
  • To deliver products and experiences that solve real problems for our users and customers, in ways that our customers love, yet work for our business. 
  • As product manager, you’re responsible for ensuring that what gets built is both valuable and viable.  
  • The product manager is responsible for understanding and prioritizing what is needed from a product delivery role, why is it needed and when it is needed to enable efficient product delivery.
  • This role will also be responsible for contribution to product discovery and product strategy work.

What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?
  • Product manager must have the proper skills and techniques to surface pain points, ideate on solutions, outline epics/user stories and bring commercially viable solutions to market. 
  • Product Operational Knowledge – Is the product manager considered an acknowledged expert on how her product actually works? Is he or she skilled with the various data tools that show how the product is actually used by users?
  • Product Optimization Techniques – Once a product or new capability is live and in production, does the product manager know how to utilize optimization techniques to rapidly improve and refine her product?
  • Team Collaboration Skills – How effectively does the product manager work with her developers?  Is it a collaborative relationship?  Is there mutual respect? Is the product manager fully leveraging her team’s skills and minds?
  • Stakeholder Management Skills – How good is the product manager at managing her stakeholders across the company?  Do stakeholders feel like they have a true partner in product that is genuinely committed to their business success?  Has she established mutual respect and mutual trust with each stakeholder, including the senior leadership of the company?
