Description:

  • This is a Project Manager role working for the Mountain West Region IT Portfolio Management Office.
  • The assignment will be to lead one or more projects to migrate recently acquired medical clinics from their legacy Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record (PM/EMR) systems to the Mountain West Region Solutions (Allscripts Practice Management and TouchWorks EMR).
  • The candidate will manage workstreams (Application Build, Interfaces, Data Conversions, Etc..) across a highly matrixed organization consisting of technical & business resources organized as workstream delivery teams of less than 10 resources each.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization while maintaining a confident and friendly demeanor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project execution working with teams from various functional areas
  • Partner with leadership team assigned to each initiative
  • Coordinate directly with prospective client executives and internal stakeholders to manage projects. This responsibility will require client facing communications, executive-level presence, and storyboarding and presentation skills
  • Create deliverables related to pursuit strategy and operating cadence, project status, risks, and expected results. Plan and deliver well-structured oral and written communications, highlighting strategic opportunities
  • Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, timeline and work plan details, resource gaps, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques
  • Ensure alignment and understanding of program / project scope and objectives with the organization's strategic objectives, in consultation with applicable stakeholders
  • Raise awareness of any misalignment or misunderstanding of project scope and objectives with applicable stakeholders
  • Ensure that all impacted areas are identified, and that appropriate resources are engaged to participate in the scope definition process
  • Ensure that project scope, requirements and approvals comply with existing governance guidelines and methodology
  • Ensure that all project dependencies / linkages are identified (e.g., cross-functional area dependencies, implementation timelines, value proposition overlap areas, etc.)
  • Apply consultative thinking and mindset to advise the client and internal stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field (4+ years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
  • 5+ years of Healthcare IT Project Management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in managing highly complex cross-functional projects with significant leadership / executive-level exposure
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience migrating medical practice from one PM/EMR system to another
  • Bonus: Experience migrating to Allscripts Practice Management or TouchWorks EMR
  • Experience with Smartsheet
