Job Description:
- This role will support a specific Customer and will be monitoring devices.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations and working heavily in Solarwinds.
- Network technical background required as it plays hand in hand in adding devices into Solarwinds.
- Will not make any changes to devices but will need to identify and trouble shoot devices as needed.
- Bringing in new network devices, troubleshooting, conducting maintenance required, setting up devices and installing devices into system (Solarwinds).
- 80% installing, 20% troubleshooting. Must have basic networking understanding to take the next steps to troubleshoot properly (run a ping test, does the device have snmp, etc.).
- Must be able to at least aid in the process to successfully add the device into the system.
- Expected start date: ASAP, Customer start date is November 1st so contractor will need to be trained
Responsibilities:
- Working with other teams in service assurance and collectively ensuring all customer devices are adding properly to the monitoring tool and are functioning.
- Solarwinds backups, reporting, and general functions in the software. Working with ops teams to ensure successful devices.
- Tickets daily: Estimated 1 project ticket to add 20 devices to monitoring, or 5 induvial tickets for devices
Skills:
- Solarwinds exp preferred, networking device configuration around snmp, positive attitude, ability to adjust to changing circumstances
Experience:
- Education and experience go hand in hand.
- Solarwinds experience, networking device configuration exp preferred.
- Other software monitoring tool exp is valuable, but highly preferring Solarwinds as that is the main system being used.
- Would be open to other systems that have the same fundamentals to assist with learning Solarwinds.
- Bachelor’s level or equivalent exp in IT field predominately around monitoring and network maintenance/management.
- At least 2 years of experience. Have seen success from a straight networking background and IT help desk background.
- General IT industry exp

- Constantly changing, fast paced, independent but a lot of collaborative work with team and potential areas for high stress.
Hiring Plan:
- Long term contract to turn into FTE.
