  • The Contingent Instructional Media/E-Learning Developer is a member of the Digital Education team and is responsible for the development of original, interactive, and intuitive online instructional media to support the education of healthcare professionals and sales representatives on the companys products and their relevant clinical applications. This position plays a supporting role developing instructional media that effectively addresses diverse audience needs.
  • The Contingent Instructional Media/E-Learning Developer works closely with internal cross-functional partners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging, interactive content that meets the needs of learnings using a variety of tools and software. Ensuring quality learner experience through engaging interaction design and online learning best practices is essential in this role.
  • The Contingent Instructional Media/E-Learning Developer will partner closely with other members of the Digital Education team including Instructional Designers, other Instructional Media Developers, Program Managers, Medical Illustrators, and LMS Administrators.
  • The Contingent Instructional Media/E-Learning Developer will work on multiple projects concurrently, adjust individual priorities as needed, and overcome obstacles to meet project deadlines.

A Day in The Life

  • Collaborate effectively with team members internal cross-functional partners/SMEs to understand learning objectives for the target audience(s) and develop effective digital media through the use different tools, strategies, programming, and creativity.
  • Develop appropriate digital media to achieve educational objectives.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager(s) to align with project and process management standards.
  • Collaborate with Senior Instructional Media Developers and Instructional Designers to align with instructional design standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with Senior Instructional Media Developers and potentially Medical Illustrators to develop effective visual content.
  • Follow standards and guidelines for adherence to corporate brand style and standards for consistent brand identity.
  • Stay current on new technologies, industry trends or techniques which may affect current departmental practices.
  • Make recommendations for new methods, materials, and tools to enhance the educational value of course materials and/or improve efficiency of departmental practices.
  • Maintain files of all materials and electronic documents in required active folders, archives, and digital asset management system(s).
  • Manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Identify and communicate potential development problems or challenges as they surface and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate changes in priorities and direction of the goal or project to the team and project stakeholders.
  • Manage and track project work in the organizations project management system(s).
  • Minimal travel required

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 2 years of experience in instructional media development with a Bachelors degree, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology or Instructional Technology
  • In-depth knowledge of interaction design, usability, and digital learning methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience using Articulate 360 (Rise 360, Storyline 360) or other equivalent eLearning authoring tool(s).
  • Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia and/or equivalent creative and video editing software.
  • Experience developing learning solutions deployed in Totara, Cornerstone OnDemand or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Familiarity with Workfront, Trello or similar project management system(s).
  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Understanding of technology and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Knowledge of current and trending digital learning industry theories and practices.
  • Strong conceptual thinking: ability to take raw content, demonstrate and execute on a strong understanding of design principles to create instructional media that supports the delivery of an engaging learning experience.
  • Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible with a can do attitude and can remain professional under high pressure situations.
  • Dedicated to quality customer service, proactive and responsive to customer needs.
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Prior experience working on projects for medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturers a plus.
